Sue Hamilton won her fifth Russley women’s golf championship yesterday and in doing so denied Jeannette Ross her first title. Miss Hamilton won the 36 hole final at the thirty-fifth hole.
Miss Hamilton, who now lives at Methven but who has retained a country membership at Russley, was 1 down after the first 18 holes. Mrs Ross scored 79
and Miss Hamilton had 81. Mrs Ross dropped to two up after 25 holes but a series of loose shots cost her' three of the next four holes and the experienced Miss Hamilton held on to win, 3 and 1.
