N.Z. to face Egypt
PA Auckland New Zealand will face the strong Egyptian team in its qualifying pool of roundrobin matches in the men’s world squash event in this country next month. Egypt and New Zealand, due to meet in the last round on October 15 at Henderson, should both progress through to the intermediate stages. Ireland, Finland and Japan are also in pool four. Pool one, headed by Pakistan, includes Scotland,
Canada and New Zealand youth. England, the second-seed, leads pool two and will be opposed by the United States, Zimbabwe, Kuwait and Papua New Guinea. The sixth-seeded Sweden is in pool three with the third seed, Australia, Hong Kong, Wales and Malaysia. After three days of qualifying rounds there will be a regrouping of the nations, the top eight teams being split into the top two pools for more round-robin matches.
