Head winds slow Akaroa ride
A strong head wind on the return leg of the Christchurch to Akaroa and Return Cycling Classic took its toll on Saturday, as did the stage at the Hill Top. The race attracted a field of 67 riders competing in three grades, and was held over four stages. Final placings were:— A Grade: G. Cox 21 pts, P. Coates 13 pts, M. Robertson 10 pts. B Grade: M. McLister 15 pts, R. Lauder 13 pts, C. Nichols 11 pts. C Grade: A. Graham 16 pts, A. Nye 13 pts, G. Love 9 pts.
