For the record
THE GIRL Guides Association has launched a community project to help New Zealand families keep a record of immunisations. As a seventy-fifth anniversary year service project, association members are giving the cards away to assist and encourage a record to be kept of families’ immunisation programmes. They can be obtained from any association member. The cards have been distributed nationally and are sponsored by Glaxo Laboratories. Calculated A WARNING on a pay packet was reported to say, ’‘Note carefully: if money in packet does not agree with net wages, at once inform the Paying Officer before breaking seal.” Overwhelming WOMEN in Britain who replied to an advertisement by a shoe company received rather surprising replies from the firm. “We hope’ that you will be able to ... see for yourself how attractive and comfortable Romika shoes are, and that you will want to wear nothing else.” Unlucky

He has since sold his business and is unemployed. Automatic tea THE MORALE of the British office worker is in danger of serious damage, according to a spokesman for Civil Service unions there. The cause is a Government report which is sending the humble tea trolley rolling on its way in favour of
automatic vending machines with plastic cups. The report said that offices cluttered with milk bottles, bags of sugar, teapots, and unwashed mugs were . a hindrance to efficiency and made places look untidy as well. The decision has spurred unions into what some say has been the quickest response ever seen from public servants. Union leaders say the decision means the end of office tea clubs which are claimed to be the basis of a wide range of social activity within the service.
