Clash of dates
PA Wellington The Levin Racing Club will have to find a new date for its Bayer Classic meeting in November. The Racing Authority has upheld an objection by the Wellington Trotting Club after both clubs had been allocated November 30 for their fixtures. , A decision on the new Levin date is not likely to be finalised for some days and the Racing Conference’s secretary, Mr H. J. Poland, said it was unlikely to be confirmed until the next executive committee meeting on September 14 and 15.
An alternative is to move the Levin meeting a day forward to November 29 and transfer the Auckland fixture for that day to November 30.
However, Mr Poland said one of the major factors will be the availability of television coverage for the Levin sate.
