New series for three-year-olds
A new $15,500 mobile series for three-year-olds will provide one of the features at meetings of the Canterbury Park Trotting Club to be run on October 5, 12 and 21. To be known as the Lion Breweries Three-year-old Series, it will have two heats and a final. The heats,- each worth $4OOO, will be run on the first two nights, with the' $7500 final on October 21. All three races will be run from behind
the mobile barrier. Horses nominated for the heats will be deemed to be entered for the final. Form in the heats wiirbe considered when the field for the final is selected. Horses must contest one of the heats in order to be considered for the final, and it is not intended that any horse wiH be able to contest more than one heat. The conditions governing the series are subject to approval by the Trotting Conference. I
