Gun for Fun leading prospect

PA Hastings After his good run to get third in the Gatrel Handicap at Wanganui a week ago, Gun for Fun looks to be the leading prospect in the Springvale Handicap, the first leg of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s T.A.B. double at Hastings tomorrow.

Gun for Fun is a top class galloper and even at the ago of nine has lost little of his dash, as he showed in his first run over ground in this campaign.

Irish Charger could press him as close an any runner. He was second behind Athamas in the Gatrell and had won three of his previous five races, so his form is good.

Anbanda was the favourite on the first day but did not get the best of runs. She was fifth after winning at Paeroa the time before and warrants another chance.

The second leg is the Awanui Handicap and Lucky Pal, after running on late for fourth on the first day, could improve/enough to win. '■ Wharfinger and Rich Rogue are last start winners. Lady Gemma won well enough on Wednesday to be considered again in this. Jbt: 7 Tab: HN T.A.B.
