Noble River in Cup
Noble River is an additional second acceptor for the $30,000 International Harvester Winter Cup at Riccarton on Saturday week.
The Wingatui-trained son of Noble Bijou was omitted from the original list published earlier this week. Noble River won the $lO,OOO Wrightson Bloodstock Handicap at the Winter Cup distance at Wingatui in June. His trainer, Hector Anderton, jun., has engaged the South Island’s leading jockey, Jim Collett, to ride the horse in the Paparua Handicap on Saturday and the Winter Cup.
Collett won the 1977 Winter Cup on Diamond Pal when the Southland veteran npset at the odds of 96-to-one.
