Coopworths for U.S.
PA Wellington Twenty Coopworth ewes and four rams are on their way to the American west coast as part of a joint scientific research venture between New Zealand’s Ministry of Agriculture, the United States Government, and American farmers. The leader of the genetic
research group at the Ministry’s Agricultural Research Division based at Ruakura, Dr Neil Clarke, said the Coopworths were a wellproduced breed which had good fleece production and fertility. “We will be interested to see how they perform against the breeds there.”
