Competition results
Did you enter a poster in the competition held by the Native Forests Action Council to mark Conservation Week? If so, you may be among the lucky prizewinners. Prizes for the best posters include a day trip to a local wildlife centre, nature books, and paints and crayons. The winners are:

Five and six years — 1: Karen Lewthwaite, Hoon Hay School. 2: Majka Kaiser, Middleton Grange. 3: Emily Arthur, Cashmere Primary School. Highly commended: Kate Woodward, Cashmere Primary School. Dan Sinclair also won the award for the best slogan with the entry: “Save our forests because the trees are a link in many vital food chains.”
The winners will be presented with their awards by the Mayor of Christchurch, Sir Hamish Hay, in the foyer of the Christchurch Town Hall at 5.15 p.m. on Friday. The best posters are on display at the Town Hall this week.
