Orange cake
What you need 150 grams butter 3 tblsp orange juice 1 tsp grated orange rind 2 cups flour Three-fifths cup milk 1 cup sugar 2 eggs l¥z tsp baking powder 4 tblsp sugar What you do 1. Cream the butter in a mixing bowl. 2. Add the cupful of sugar and blend until well creamed. 3. Add orange rind and beat until light and fluffy. 4. Beat in eggs. 5. Sift flour and baking powder onto a plate and stir half of it in. 6. Mix milk into bowl, then add remaining dry ingredients. 7. Grease a 20cm round tin thoroughly. Line the
bottom with greaseproof paper. 8. Bake at 180 degrees C for 50 to 60 minutes. 9. Dissolve the 4 tblsp of sugar in the orange juice. 10. Pour this mixture over the cake when it comes out of the oven and is still warm. 11. Allow the cake to cool completely before you remove it from the tin.
