$25,000 needed for study
The Christchurch City Council’s resource recovery committee will be asked to provide $25,000 needed to allow a study of producing biogas from rubbish to continue. In May, the council applied for a $50,000 grant from the New Zealand Enggy Research and P# ve J°P' ent Committee s* that preliminary investigations
could be made. That committee normally requires a 50 per cent local contribution for such projects. No council funds were budgeted for a study, the public utilities committee was told yesterday, but there was $55,000 in resource recovery committee estimates for publicity o and promotion.
