Westfield row over
PA Auckland A demarcation dispute involving carpenters, freezing workers, and fitters at the Westfield Freezing Company was resolved yesterday, and the parties also decided on a formula to deal with future issues, said the general manager of the works, Mr Gordon Taylor, yesterday. About 2900 bobby calves ended up as animal feed and other by-products, not export meat, when fitters belonging to the Engineer’s Union walked off the job on Friday in a row over the repair of metal lockers.
