Further demonstrations of networked BMC 800 microcomputers are planned in Christchurch this week when the Auckland distributor, Microprocessor Developments, Ltd, holds a series of presentations at Christchurch Polytechnic.

MDL showed the machines for the first time last month at a demonstration at Shirley Boys’ High School.

The company is returning with 12 BMC 800 s and will demonstrate them to Polytechnic staff, primary school principals, and the Canterbury Computer Education Society. Next week those at the Polytechnic’s seminar “Microcomputer Systems for Small Businesses” will also get a chance to view the machines.

On Wednesday, August 10, a presentation will be made

to a lunch-time meeting of the Computer Society, entitled “A Micro Network for a Multi-department Enterprise.” This presentation will begin at 12.30 p.m. at the Building Centre.

As well as a presentation on the BMC 800 microcomputer on Wednesday, August 10, the Computer Society will be holding two further meetings this month.

This Thursday, Mr Peter Hill will address a luncheon meeting on the subject of forms design.

On Friday, August 19, Mr R. A. Hogg, from Databank, will discuss the New Zealand banking data processing operation, compared with major overseas countries, and future banking services.

All three meetings are at the Building Centre starting at 12.30 p.m.
