Andas rises sharply

The New Zealand sharemarket continued its strong rally ini busy trading yesterday. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index rose 7.01 points to 870.32, and rises outnumbered falls more than four to one. Neil Holdings a firmer in spite of reporting a decline in earnings, but Atlas Majestic lost 3c to 112 c after announcing it had returned to the red. Skellerup Industries rose a further 25c after last week’s good profit report and the news of a cash issue. Also up strongly were Andas Group, after news tnat Brierley Investments had agreed to appoint a nominee to the board, Revertex, and NZ Petroleum. Market leaders were markedly firmer, except for Ceramco, Crown, and Southland Frozen Meat.
