Tugs may free tanker
NZPA Port Moresby An attempt may be made at the week-end to pull an 82,000-ton oil tanker off a coral reef near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
The Liberian registered Manhatten Duke holed her hull when she hit the reef last week-end while waiting
to take aboard a Torres Strait pilot. The 238-metre ship, bound
for Singapore from New Zealand, was not carrying cargo.
