Rich pace to Ralph Hanover
NZPA Newark Ralph Hanover crossed the line a length and a quarter ahead of Umbrella Fella to win the $NZ1,930,000 Meadowlands Pace for three year olds last Friday night. The victory for the bay colt, driven by Ron Waples, was his seventh win in nine starts this season.
The $NZ965,000 first prize brought Ralph Hanover’s earnings to $NZ1,253,000 for the season and $NZ1,435,000 for his career, in which he has won 14 of 24 races. Third place went to Rashad, another length and a quarter back. Ralph Hanover, the favourite in the 12-horse field, ran the mile in Imin 54.25. J
