Appointee will be responsible for day to day supervision of a biochemistry laboratory undertaking both mineral analyses using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy and metabolite and enzyme analyses using a Rate Reaction Analyser, for maintenance of equipment and stores ordering. The appointee will be required to undertake the development and validation of analytical technioues, particularly enzymatic methods, and must be capable of working Independently. Desired qualifications are NZCS, BSc with relevant experience, or MSc. A background in Biochemistry/Chemistry Is most desirable, but applicants with suitable qualifications and experience in allied fields will be considered. Initially the appointee will be seconded to the Biophysics Group to join a team specialising in the development of new milk harvesting systems. A higher degree in Physics or engineering is required together with an aptitude for innovative development in both mechanical and electronic areas.
