Currently we have the following draughting vacancies in our design engineering department, based in our New Plymouth offices. 1. Section leader (Electrical). This position Involves supervision of the electrical design section of the drawing office, combined with project drawing-board work and development of company standard drawings for electrical plant, as related to the gas/oil industry. The position reports direct to the senior electrical engineer. The qualification required is NZCE, NZCD or the equivalent, with preferably ten years design draughting and previous supevisory experience. 2 Mechanical draughtsman or draughtswoman. The work involves preparation of piping and mechanical layouts, and liaison with on-slte personnel. Candidates should be able to work from engineers’ sketches, and be conversant with on-slte modification work. ONC/HNC or NZCD/NZCE qualifications are preferred, with some years design draughting experience, preferably related to the process or petrochemical Industries. 3 Civil/structural draughtsman or draughtswoman. Candidates should have NZCE (civil) and at least five years design draughting experience. The successful applicant will be able to Interpret design and produce civil and structural drawings. Preference would be given to those with structural steelwork experience in the petrochemical field. These are permanent positions, with access to the shell pension scheme.
