The whole project comprises the construction and operation of three transfer stations and a landfill site. One station Is already In operation and a second is under construction. The project offers scope for ongoing investigation into all new developments In refuse disposal and resource recovery. Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in the supervision of staff and an ability to negotiate and communicate with technical officers of local , authorities, government departments and other agencies. A qualification in Engineering is essential. The appointee will preferably be a Registered Engineering Associate, but must hold the qualification of New Zealand Certificate in Engineering as a minimum. The successful applicant will be employed by the Christchurch Metropolitan Refuse Disposal Committee which is a Standing Committee of the combined councils of the Christchurch City, Waimairi District, Paparua County, Heathcote County and Riccarton Borough.
