Otago makes her last call?
Robert Lankshear, aged 14, of Nelson, takes a look at Lyttelton Harbour from inside a gunnery director on board H.M.N.Z.S. Otago yesterday. He was one of an estimated 2500 people who visited the ship during an open day yesterday. Those who took the chance to see the Otago, which arrived in port on Saturday for three days,
were able to view the upper deck and speak to members of the ship’s company. The visit may be the last the Otago will pay to Lyttelton as she will be taken off naval service in November. The Otago last week paid a farewell visit to her home province, Otago. She will leave Lyttelton for Auckland tomorrow morning.
