Dorothy Bret for U.S.

PA Auckland Dorothy Bret ended her New Zealand racing career on a winning note when she scored handsomely in the Wild Nut Mobile Pace at the Thames Trotting Club’s meeting at Alexandra Park last Friday night. The four-year-old mare will be taken to the United States on Saturday. Dorothy Bret was, trained by Noel Taylor, of Auckland, and raced by him in partnership with Mrs Jewel Pierce, of Invercargill. The pair will continue to race the Knowing Bret mare. She will join Jack Sherren’s California stable along with several other horses owned by Mr Taylor. Mr Taylor also intends to send Nyallo Skipper, Pony Express, Final Call and the South Island pacer, Lili’s Choice. Jack Sherren has had considerable success with New Zealand-bred pacers in North America. He recently won the Guys and Dolls series final at Freehold, in California, with Spinster Anna, which was bred byMr Taylor.
