Nursing passes
Sir,—Many questions could be asked about the failure rate of student nurses sitting their State Nursing final examinations (July 6). I hope that a little publicity about this matter may bring some of these questions into the open so that we can all understand why, in May, 1983, a local pass rate of 64 per cent is both possible and permissible at this stage of their three-year training. From the report in the paper today, one could be forgiven for thinking that inadequate support is given to these distressed students by their nursing superiors. — Yours, etc., JEANE NUTHALL. i July 6, 1983.
