Arms amnesty
PA Wellington More than 380 firearms have been handed in during the first week of the arms amnesty, said Chief Superintendent J. M. McCarthy from police national headquarters yesterday. He said that 265 rifles, 43
shotguns, 66 pistols, 12 unlawful weapons, 4200 rounds of ammunition, 12 bombs and grenades, 178 explosives and detonators, and 11 other weapons had been surrended. The amnesty will finish at the end of the month.
