Peace stickers on buses

Sir,—l strongly support the recent decision by the Christchurch Transport Board to decorate the city’s buses with nuclear-weapon-free zone stickers. Nearly all of us are frightened by the threat of nuclear war. However, there are some who think that nuclear war is unreal, and who say that even if there were to be a nuclear war New Zealand would come out unharmed. These people care little for what others do in trying to help end this nuclear madness. These efforts are seen as futile and fruitless. The decision by the Christchurch Transport Board to publicise peace is far from futile or fruitless; it is worthy of support. Any actions which might make people think and, hopefully take a stand against nuclear madness is to be applauded. To those who moan about the costs involved with this project I would ask where their priorities are. — Yours, etc., G. COSTER. July 5, 1983.
