Radio questionnaire
Sir,—The radio questionnaire (May 14) was laughable. Listening to the radio one had the impression the listeners’ opinions anity, tastes
could be expressed for improved radio listening in the future. What we were in fact presented with was a farce. An entire page was used to ask questions, in print big enough to be read in candlelight by a myopic fruit bat. One line was provided to answer the question of what was liked and disliked about each station. Unless you are an expert in pidgin English, shorthand or have a very fine pencil lead, it was impossible to say what all your likes and dislikes were. The idea of a radio questionnaire is a good one as the standard of Christchurch radio is abhorrent, but a little more forethought would go a long way. — Yours, etc., G. W. LANGDON, Ashburton. May 19, 1983. [Mr John McElhinney, station manager 3ZM, replies: “We invite your correspondent to write directly to Radio Check Up, Box 1484, Christchurch, giving as much detail as felt necessary concerning likes and dislikes about each Christchurch radio station.”]
