Man stabbed on bus
A man was in a serious condition in Christchurch Hospital last evening after he was stabbed in the chest on a bus in Riccarton Road.
A police spokesman said early this morning that they were holding two people in custody for questioning, but no arrests had been made. The stabbing occurred about 11 p.m. when “a fel-
low took exception to his girlfriend looking at another man,” said the spokesman. The Christchurch Transport Board bus was near Straven Road when it happened, and was three-quar-ters full. The passengers and the bus driver were taken to the Central Police Station for questioning, and were still there early this morning.
