War protest About 6000 anti-war demonstrators have marched from the Vietnam veterans’ memorial to Lafayette park opposite the White House to protest against President Ronald Reagan’s policies in Central America. They rallied first at the memorial, and then, carrying peace signs such as “No Vietnam war in Central America,” marched I.6km to Lafayette park for a second rally. — Washington. Roof collapse The roof of a department store in Tennessee collapsed during heavy rain, injuring at least 52 people and briefly trapping more than 20. No deaths were reported, and rescue workers halted a search through the rubble after finding no more victims. — Bolivar. Angola plan The United States is expecting to get all Cuban combat forces out of Angola this year, in return for a South African withdrawal from South-West Africa (Namibia), the “Observer” reports. Quoting unidentified American officials in Washington, the weekly said that the agreement “could be completed in about a month, unless last-minute snags arise.” — London. Maclean will Donald Maclean, the former British diplomat who spied for Russia, left almost 111,571 in his will, the London “Sunday Telegraph” reports. The money was deposited in a London bank account by Maclean before he defected to the Soviet Union in 1951, the newspaper said. In his will, dated October 22, 1948, Maclean left his estate in England and Wales, worth $11,564, to his wife, Melinda, who is now living in the United States. — London.
