Timber for Korea
PA Wellington The Forest Service has negotiated three sales to Korea. Two pine shipments from the Kaingaroa and Rotoehua State forests, each worth $1.3 million, have been sold to the .Korean companies, Samsung and Sammisa.
The first load will be shipped from Mount Maunganui in mid-August and the second about a month later.
Samsung will also take a shipment of Corsican pine from Nelson. The sales are the result of a marketing trip to Korea by Forest Service staff in April.
