Cycling win to Doherty
Steve Doherty rode away from the main body of the field after 15km and was never in danger of being caught in the Hornby club’s professional road cycling race over 50km on Saturday. Doherty won the A grade and a visiting Greymouth
cyclist Gavin Fuller, won the B grade. In a sprint finish, he narrowly beat two veterans, Ray Craig and Roger Prince. Results:— A grade— S. Doherty 1, C. Yaxley 2, J. Doherty 3. B grade.— G. Fuller 1, R. Craig 2, R. Prince 3.
