Any port in a storm
PA Auckland At times even a police van can appear warm and inviting. At least that is how it seemed to a young, homeless Aucklander seeking refuge from the cold and heavy rain one night. He could not resist the open door of the van, parked in the public area of the central police station, so he crawled in. curled up, and fell asleep. The police found their unexpected guest just after 7 a.m. and sent him on his way. Inspector Craig Duncan said the unnamed man would not be charged — “We’re not that insensitive to his predicament.”
