lan Bell joins Kiwis
lan Bell (Auckland), one of six stand-by players named last Sunday, will now travel to Brisbane with the New Zealand rugby league team for the return test against Australia on July 9. The late inclusion of Bell in the touring party was prompted by continuing concern for the fitness of the Kiwi second-row forward and captain, Mark Graham, who damaged
medial ligaments in a knee during the first test. Bell has made two previous test appearances, during the 1978 Kiwi tour of Australia and Papua New Guinea. If Graham has to withdraw, the captaincy would revert to Graeme West, Kurt Sorensen would be promoted from the reserves and Bell would become the substitute forward.
