U.S. wool label planned
NZPA staff correspondent Washington American sheepfarmers plan an “aggressive” programme to promote allAmerican wool products. The American Sheep Producers’ Council will work with mills, manufacturers, and retailers to introduce' specific all-American products with a label which will say “Made in America from American wool.” “As sheepfarmers we are extremely concerned about the low prices for American wool,” said Mr Edgar Olson, chairman of the council’s wool advisory committee. “These prices are especially difficult when we see the increased use of natural fibres in the marketplace today. “There is no doubt that wool is more in demand today than it has been for some time. However, prices at the farm and ranch do not reflect that improved market.” ___
