Bionic ‘Grizz’
Canterbury supporters were upset when Alex Wyllie was forced to retire injured in the 1977 match against the Lions. But spectators grouped around a certain wit had the tension taken out of “Grizz’s” departure. This man, obviously a fan of the television series, “the Six Million Dollar Man,” called out after Wyllie’s departing form, “we can rebuild you — we have the technology?
