The long-distance Telethon walker, Mr Stuart Strand, aged 65, gets a lift from two fellow members of the R.S.A., Mr Bob McRobie and Mr Ian Brough, in Christchurch yesterday. Mr Strand, who started his walk from Cape Reinga on April 14, hopes to reach Stewart Island in three weeks. He will set out tomorrow on the last leg of his trek. Already he has collected $1400 for Telethon and expects to increase this figure to $2000.
