Situations Vacant Situations Vacant CHEESE INDUSTRY TEMUKA CO-OP DAIRY COMPANY, LTD, has grown from being a 1600 tonne cheese factory in 1978 to a modern cheese factory of over 6000 tonnes. LABORATORY MANAGER The company is interested in receiving applications from people with appropriate qualifications, either B.Sc., diploma in Dairy Technology, diploma in Food Science or similar. The position involves responsibility for the company’s laboratory which conducts a large amount of testing to ensure that the company’s products meet with M.A.F. requirements. The position includes the supervision of testing procedures, organising the work load of four technicians, over-all control of hygiene and quality throughout all the company’s plants, liaison with suppliers and regulatory authorities. Previous experience in laboratory management, preferably in the dairy or food industries is required. CLANDEBOYE PLANT SUPERVISOR The Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient running and staff deployment of the company’s major manufacturing unit at Clandeboye, 8 kilometres from Temuka. This Supervisor will report to the Assistant to the Factory Manager. The company is seeking someone preferably 25 to 40 years of age who either has a diploma in dairy technology or Is at present completing this qualification. The successful person would probably be at present supervising a section within a dairy manufacturing plant and demonstrate an ability to motivate and manage staff. General — The dairy company’s staff are mainly located at Temuka. Temuka is a pleasant rural township, 85 miles south of Christchurch and offers excellent community and recreational facilities.
