Tennis rivalry resumes
NZPA London Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe resume their grass court rivalry when the Queens Club Tournament, the main pre-Wimbledon event, starts in London today. Connors beat his fellow American to win the event last year and three weeks later repeated the performance in the Wimbledon final. Connors, McEnroe and
the main threat to continued American domination of major British titles, Ivan Lendl, of Czechoslovakia, were all beaten early in the French championships, which ended yesterday. They have used this time to practice in London and adjust from European clay to British grass. The new French champion, Yannick Noah, will not play at Wimbledon because of his dislike of grass.
