Police seek brown-eyed recruits
PA Auckland The police are on the look-out for six special recruits to be trained in drug detection work. Two or three of the recruits will be needed for duty in Tonga. They must be in good physical shape with an even temperament, have socialised well, and have an impeccable pedigree. They must also have brown eyes and a wet nose.
The Auckland police dog station wants six Labrador dogs for drug work and has been unable to get them from the usual supply kennels. The Labradors may be of either sex but must be aged between six and 15 months. The police hope to buy older dogs vyhose owners are having difficulty coping with their feeding costs or management
