An all-South Island New Zealand Universities netball team (above) left Christchurch yesterday for an 18day tour of Australian cities. They are (from left rear) Barbara Webster, Louise Tierney, Tina Hazlett, Jan Marshall, and Maryanne McMeeken.
(Front) Andrea Dean, Lyn Banks, Jan Pickering, and Jenny Readman. Missing is Jane Watson. All 10 players in the party come from Canterbury or Otago. The only North Island representatives are the coach and selector, Dulcie Cowley and the man-
ageress, Dawn Porima, both of Hamilton. The universities team will play matches in Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane. The focus of the tour will be on the Australian Universities tournament in Sydney. The team was chosen
from students at New Zealand universities and the Hamilton Teachers College. Readman, the captain, and Pickering, Banks, Dean and Watson are from Canterbury, while Hazlett, Tierney, Webster, McMeeken and Marshall are from Otago.
