PREQUALIFICATION OF TENDERERS LPG PIPELINE FOR LIQUIGAS LTD LYTTELTON TO WOOLSTON Submissions are invited from, companies interested in tendering for construction of a 200 mm diameter buried pipeline approximately 7km long to transport LPG from the petroleum products wharf at the port of Lyttelton via a pump station over the Port Hills to a bulk storage depot to be located at Woolston. The pipeline will in general be designed in accordance with the New Zealand and the American national standard ANSI 831.4. Construction of the pipeline will include the following items: 1. Installation of a marine unloading arm at Lyttelton. 2. Construction of o.skm of line pipe between wharf and pump station. 3. Installation of pumps, station pipework and appurtenances, pig handling equipment, pipe supports, pump foundations,, etc. control panels and station wiring. 4. Construction of a o.3km-long tunnel. 5: Construction of pipeline from the pump station, through the tunnel section followed by a 1 km submarine crossing. 6. Construction of 4.Bkm of pipeline across the Port Hills to the depot at Woolston. 7. Installation of pipeline within the Woolston depot up to and including pig handling and pressure control equipment together.with their foundations and supports. 8. Construction of valve/access pits, and installation of fittings, valves and appurtenances along the pipeline route. 9. Installation of a cathodic protection system. Environmental control during construction and careful reinstatement after major work is completed will be an important part of the contract. It is envisaged that tender documents will be available in late June 1983, and the contract will start in September 1983 with completion by June 1984. We would be pleased to receive in the first instance acknowledgement from firms interested in being considered as principal tenderers for the whole of the contract, or as subcontractors for parts of the aforementioned works.
