<SX) Management Information Systems Manager MAJOR EDP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME New Zealand Steel Ltd South Auckland This is a new and very senior appointment, with overall control of both systems (DP and non-DP) development and computer operations, and covering both commercial and technical/process control applications. It has been precipitated by the current 5827 million expansion programme at Glenbrook which will result in a fully integrated modern steel works with a wide product range, leading to not only major import substitution in local markets but also substantial export earnings. New Zealand Steel is a wholly NZ-owned listed public company, established in 1967 and with an excellent profit record. Early tasks for the appointee, with consulting assistance, include assessment of computer requirements, identification and selection of suitable equipment, and preparation of strategic plans for DP development over the next few years. The existing systems and computer operations staff of 20 are expected to more than double by 1985. As this will quickly become one of New Zealand's foremost computer management positions it calls for a widely experienced DP professional with proven success at senior executive level on large installations incorporating advanced applications and technology. Salary negotiations will be fully in line with the high standing of the appointment and a company car and comprehensive fringe benefits will | be provided.
