Assistance to films
Wellington reporter Nine new films have been helped in production by the Film Commission since the Government altered the tax laws on film investment last year. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Highet, said that when the 1982 Budget had outlined the new taxation regime, ?1.75 million had been provided for the Film
Commission. Most of that amount had now been allocated by the Film Commission, and included: production financing (totalling ?1,426,148 for nine films), development finance ($203,600 for 14 film projects), and marketing assistance ($lOO,OOO for four films, of which three had also received production assistance).
