Three suspicious fires

Three suspicious fires which occurred within 90 minutes of one another yesterday are being investigated by Christchurch detectives. A boat and a garage and two motor-vehicles were damaged between 4.45 a.m. and 6.30 a.m. Mr Anthony Rogers is pictured with the remains of his boat which was destroyed in his Lake Terrace Road garage. It appears the garage was broken into by sawing through a padlock, according to the police. A parked car at the corner of Hills Road and Shirley Road was moderately damaged by fire about 5.30 a.m. and an hour later another car parked near the corner of Philpotts Road and Kellys Road, Mairehau, was burnt out.
