Recreational programme
The recreation programme at Queen Elizabeth II Park during the May school holidays is varied, and has been designed to appeal to children of all ages. During the first few days, the list includes: Monday, May 9: A series of Walt Disney comic films will be screened at 2 p.m. These films will be for anyone over 5 years old, and the cost will be 50c.
Tuesday, May 10; A bus trip to go canoeing on the Avon and then visit Orana Park. Bring a packed lunch to eat before watching the feeding of the lions. The bus will leave Q.E. II at 9.30
a.m. and pick up people at Cowles Stadium and Aranui Activities Centre before going to the boatsheds. The price is $3. Wednesday, May 11: Parachute games at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. using the parachute in the main stadium at Q.E. 11. At least 20 people aged over 9 years are needed, and the price is 50c for the afternoon. Enrolment to these and other programmes is essential, and none will be accepted later than the day before the event. So, get in touch with the recreation officer at Q.E. II by telephoning 886-079.
