Hadlee on fire

NZPA London The New Zealand fast bowler Richard Hadlee, made a sensational start to the English cricket season when he opened with four wickets for just one Tun as Nottinghamshire took on Sussex at Hove.

Hadlee was virtually unplayable as he bowled the

opener, Gehan Mendis, the Sussex captain, John Barclay, and a former England all-rounder, lan Grieg, and had another former international, Paul Parker, out lbw.

The first three batsmen failed to score while Parker made four. They fell to Hadlee in the space of just 21 deliveries which were so accurate that bat was rarely laid on ball. The New Zealander finished his first spell with four wickets for six off nine overs.
