Space flowers
The Soviet Union is to send crocuses into space aboard a “biological, sputnik” to help scientists discover more about gardening in conditions of weightlessness, said the official Tass news agency. It is important for the future of cosmonautics and also for fundamental science, said Tass, to study the possibility of developing flowers and plants from seed in orbit.
