Extension granted

PA Wellington The Representation Commission has been given an extension of time for its work on the new electoral boundaries, the Minister of Justice, Mr McLay, has said. The reporting date for the commission on the new boundaries has been extended by a month to April 13, Mr McLay said. Under the Electoral Act the commission has six months to finish a report on the boundaries and names of the new electorates.

Mr McLay said that the commission had been unable to complete its report in that time and had sought an extension.
