PA Napier Hutt Valley had made 226 for the loss of seven wickets at stumps on the first day of their Cyclone Hawke Cup challenge against Hawke’s Bay at McLean Park, Napier, yester-
day. Graham Newdick was the challengers’ top scorer with 46, and Justin Boyle made 40. Bowling for Hawke’s Bay, the veteran spinner, David O’Sullivan, took four for 29, and Stuart Duff two for 21.
