Amaryllis belladonna and its various forms are commonly known as Belladonna Lilies. Another name for them is Naked Ladies, an allusion to the long flower stems which appear well before the leaves. The scented blooms are long-lasting and can be seen now. These large bulbed plants are native of the South Western Cape (South Africa) and are easy to grow.
