Newly-styled, versatile, efficient
Latest in the Kent Heating wood-burner range, to be seen at the “Heating ’B3” show, is the newly-styled Forester. A functional, free-stand-ing log burner, simple and clean in design, the Forester is rugged, versatile, and ul-tra-efficient.
The up-dated unit retains its original chunky look, but instead of standing on four legs, it is now mounted on a square central plinth. The damper control has been shifted to the right so that the cooking surface is increased and the heater is fitted with a single-piece glass door. Among the new developments are the expanded mesh flue cover and the low profile heat shield fitted to the back of the unit reduce the distance between heater and wall, thus saving precious space in a smaller room.
The Forester, smallest in
the Kent Wood-burner range, is nevertheless a mighty heater which can take logs up to 480 mm long — almost half a yard. This, of course gives a lower feeding frequency and longer burning time per feed.
An air slide knob on the front of the cabinet controls the amount of. combustion air reaching the fire. Keep it right down for slow, steady burning; at this rate, one log can last all night long. If you want a real blast of heat — from low to glow in seconds, and to full blaze in minutes, simply slide the knob over. This fingertip control feature is a major plus for the log fire design. Minimal cleaning is required and the high efficiency operation of the Forester can be harnessed to help save on water heating, too. There is a fully compatible water booster available.
